7/25/09: 2:25 PM (UTC)--Introduction

Hi!
I'm new to blogging, so I'll just start out right away. I have always known quite a bit about computers, and have always been able to do things most people don't have a clue about, especially recently. I can do a lot with Windows, including some batch script, control panel options, etc., and can keep Windows computers maintained well. I can also repair and build computers, and upgrade hardware, etc. Recently, I've been doing a lot of research, therefore learning a lot, and at this point my most used operating system is probably Mepis Linux, which I have installed on a computer that I built from gutted parts from older systems in an old beige case. I built it when I decided to take myself to the next level with computers, and to get into computer programming!
After some research, I decided to start with C. It looks simple and small enough, and I don't think I should have any problems with it, especially with a good book (or books). After learning C, I'll learn C++ using a little book for C programmers, that way I can get into object-oriented programming right after learning C. After that, I'm learning Assembly Language for the x86. With this, I can do more machine-level programming. The plan is to learn all these languages and immediately get started on my own programs... starting with custom system tools, basic games, then after a little experience(two weeks, maybe?), I'll get started on a custom version of Linux. I know it sounds a little like "I want to start hiking, let's start with Mt. Everest!", but this is what is really getting me into this. I don't like Windows that much, especially now, and that's one of the reasons I'm doing this. I also want to just do something challenging and be proud of it.
